Punk Rock!!!

Punk is a rock genre that developed between 1974 and 1976 in the United States, the UK and Australia. Punk embraces a DIY ethic, with many bands self-producing their recordings and distributing them through informal channels. In America an influential band was "The Ramones" from New York, In the U.K. "The Sex Pistols" became a huge success because of they're famous CD "Never Mind the Bollocks" which included songs such as "God Save the Queen" and "Anarchy in the U.K".

People who refer to themselves as "Punk Rockers" usually dress in Skate Clothing Brands or Leather Jackets and Straight leg Jeans, they usually have spiked or a Mohawk hairstyle that is often dyed different colours, they often have chains, studded belts and piercings and various band t-shirts are common.

In later years punk began to spread out into Sub-Genres such as Hardcore Punk, Skate Punk, Pop Punk, Ska Punk and Celtic Punk, Most of these developed in The U.S. When Punk Bands began to sign to Major Record Labels many bands disagreed stating that Punk was suppose to be independent an not enter mainstream in America, the most well know band to refuse to sign to a major label in NoFX who's lead singer, Fat Mike, started him own independent label "Fat Wreck Chords".

After "The Sex Pistols" came "The Clash" who again increased interest in punk in England which brought logos like this: (look Right).

A few years later punk went into decline and with the death of Sid Vicious (Bassist of the Sex Pistols)

Punk Revival began when albums like "...And Out Comes The Wolves by Rancid", "Punk in Drublic by NoFx" and "Smash by The Offspring".
